Ethical code
This code of ethics and behaviour is based on the company’s values and should be the point of reference for all workers belonging to Grupo El Fuerte, especially those who hold management posts.
We, all of the people who work in Fuerte Hoteles recognise that:
1. WE’RE HERE TO MAKE SURE OUR CLIENTS ARE SATISFIED.
We always listen to and also understand what the client wants, we want to know if there are any complaints, we always have to think about how to find the best way to provide what the client wants. We also always act with kindness, courtesy and respect. We’ll always have a sincere and friendly smile and make sure our service is top class.
2. IT’S THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MOST VALUED IN OUR COMPANY
People are the most highly valued resource at our company. We won’t discriminate on grounds of race, origin, financial situation, beliefs, sex or sexual orientation and we respect the rights laid out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Public Liberties.
3. BY RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT WE SHOW OUR RESPECT FOR OTHERS
The environment belongs to all of us, and by respecting it we show our consideration for others, love for our life, and that of others. Respecting the environment means we are guaranteeing a better future for future generations. Concern for the environment must always be a base on which to build good relationships with the communities in which we work. In our company we are always especially concerned with conserving energy and water.
4. WHERE THERE ARE GOOD BOSSES, THERE ARE GOOD EMPLOYEES
Giving a good example and demonstrating skills for developing the skills of others, and also for giving them enthusiasm whilst also motivating them are the most valued characteristics in our bosses. Coupled with an attitude that never puts personal interests, whatever they are, before those of the Company.
5. PARTICIPATION AND FAIR TREATMENT ENCOURAGE COMMITMENT TO THE COMPANY
We want employee participation. An employee interested in the Company’s problems who wishes to give an opinion is a committed employee. All employees are responsible and creative; they are also always treated with respect and fairness.
6. BEING RESPONSIBLE MEANS FOLLOWING REGULATIONS, PROCEDURES AND OBJECTIVES. TAKING CARE WITH WORKING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT IS GUARANTEEING JOBS IN THE FUTURE
For the company to work it’s vital that we carry out our work with responsibility and enthusiasm. That’s why we keep an eye on objectives, regulations and procedures outlined by the company. Caring for what we have means offering clients our hotels in the best of conditions; looking after our working tools means our jobs and those of those we work with are ensured for the future.
7. DIVERSITY IS ONE OF THE MAIN SOURCES OF WEALTH, AND RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY MEANS HEALTHY, MATURE REALTIONSHIPS
We will always respect differences of opinion; we will never use any form of pressure to reach an agreement with others with differing positions and points of view. Honest dialogue with colleagues of any rank will always be the best way to solve any conflicts.
8. WE ALL HAVE THE ABILITY TO IMPROVE AS PEOPLE AND AS PROFESSIONALS AND IF THIS IS THE CASE, IT WILL BE GOOD FOR OUR WORK
Everyone has the capacity for change.
Investing in self-improvement is morally and financially rewarding. Continuous training is an extremely important way for constantly improving our team and feeling more satisfied with ourselves. Innovation provides a change in the right direction and creativity in search of original solutions are company values.
9.GOOD BEHAVIOUR SHOULD BE PUBLICLY ACKNOWLEDGED, USED AS AN EXAMPLE AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE STRIVED FOR. BAD CONDUCT SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED AND PERSONALLY COMMUNICATED IMMEDIATELY, IN A RESPECTFUL BUT FIRM MANNER
Showing your merit, putting in personal effort, consideration for colleagues and getting good results at work will be the basis for acknowledgement. Mistakes shouldn’t be hidden and they should be admitted face to face, without humiliation. Always search for the best ways to display a sincere interest in helping resolve the matter, and in finding opportunities to rectify them in an honest manner.
10. DISCRETION INCREASES TRUST, IMPROVES RELATIONSHIPS AND STRENGTHENS OUR IMAGE
We will be meticulous in our commitment to the confidentiality that we must maintain to our personal clients, our Company, our suppliers and confidentiality in colleague information.
11. AN ORGANISATION’S STERENGTH DEPENDS A GREAT DEAL ON THE LOYALTY OF ITS STAFF
Our Company is not made up only of machines or its facilities; rather, it’s the people who work there which make it. Keep them, encourage them to stay and to be loyal this will guarantee the continuity of the company, always as long as it’s a mutual relationship, if one side stops believing in these values, it will lose it’s merit. Those who don’t believe in our company and the values stated here will not have the chance to advance in the team at Grupo el Fuerte.
12. THE SEPARATION OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL WITHIN THE COMPANY IS BETTER FOR WORK
Given how time consuming our profession is we know that we should look for the balance with our private life that allows us to relax and enjoy ourselves with friends and family. This helps to improve the efficiency of the members of our Company. As a family business, we firmly believe in the principle of separating work and home, and therefore avoid personal relationships affecting professional conduct within our organisation.
